Authentic-STEM Project

As part of NWP (science laboratory course) classes, qualified 9th grade students are given the opportunity to work as part of international solver teams with scientists and students from the University of Siegen, their instructors at GISW, and experts from German and American companies, on substantive and authentic mathematical business problems.

Students not only see how they can apply their school knowledge in a real-world work experience but also develop their skills in digital and intercultural communication as well as problem-solving.

These experiences help spark interest in STEM degrees and careers, nurturing young talent in this field.

After successful participation, each student receives a certificate which identifies the partners involved, such as the respective company, the University of Siegen and participating American organizations. ()
