On Tuesday, June 5th, 2018, our third-graders visited the Montgomery County Recycling Facility in Derwood, MD. The students learned about the basics of recycling in a presentation and then took a guided tour of the sorting facility. Our third-graders took away a greater understanding of the importance of recycling, the impact on the environment, and the processes involved. In the coming school year, theses students will act as “ambassadors” of recycling for the Elementary School and help in educating the rest of the students on the topic of recycling in their classrooms.
