On January 16th, Ms. Dunja Baker and Ms. Lair Ferrari jointly taught a block period of physical education with the classes 3b and 7b.
The students of both grade levels had to work together to learn the steps and jump for the traditional flop used in high jump. This was done by pairing a seventh-grader with a third-grader and observing each other’s approach and jump. They were prompted to discuss and analyze their observations well as exchange their experiences. The high jump technique was further analyzed and worked through with a big group reflection. The students of both grades had a lot of fun and showed that small and big, young and old, they can work well together. They had a lot of fun collaborating with each other and discovering the flop technique for the first time together.
