Upper Hallway / Main Entrance

Here you will find the German butcher, “Binkert’s Meat Products”, as well as the “Swiss Bakery”. The marked meeting point is for families, who got separated and also serves as the lost-and-found location.   Tours of the building with the Outreach & Admissions Coordinator leave from the GISW merchandize booth at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

Aula

Here you will find all third-party vendor booths, a raffle and the beautiful  “Wooden crafts” from the Erzgebirge. The FRIENDS’ room offers Advent wreaths, door wreaths and other festive candle arrangements. All profits from the market booths go to the FRIENDS and our vendors contribute part of their proceeds to the FRIENDS as well.

Cafeteria

The kitchen area awaits you with German meatloaf (ä), brats, wieners, sauerkraut, potato salad and pretzels.
The opposite area of the Cafeteria offers tea and coffee as well as our copious cake buffet featuring countless delicious cakes baked by our talented parents. Sale of soft drinks, beer and wine takes place outside, adjacent to the cake buffet. Also outside: a second food stand.  The 12th graders sell homemade cotton candy and candied apples near the exit facing the Elementary School.

In front of the Cafeteria

In front of the cafeteria we have the Arts & Crafts Group, the “Wooden craft” from the Erzgebirge and our famous authentic German mulled wine (ұüɱ𾱲). At the booth of the German Embassy you can purchase homemade Christmas cookies and homemade gingerbread houses.

Methods of Payment

Cash and/or checks are accepted at all booths of the FRIENDS as well as in the Cafeteria. Please make your checks payable to “FRIENDS of the German International School”. All profits of these sales go to the FRIENDS. Accepted methods of payment may differ at our vendors’ booths.

Security

We have two police officers and three private security officers monitoring the entire school. The school nurse will also be on duty at the Christmas Market.  A marked meeting point (entrance area, upper school) is for families, who got separated and also serves as the lost-and-found location.
