World Book Day at the Elementary School

Dear Elementary School Parents (School Entry Level through Grade 4),

On Thursday, April 11, 2019 we celebrate World Book Day at the Elementary School. We invited the children’s’ book author Ms. Brenda Seabrooke who will be reading excerpts from two of her books and sign them. The books’ titles are “Wolf Pie” for the younger students and “The Dragon That Slurped the Green Slime” for our older readers. We are grateful for the financial support by the Friends of the German International School.

This will be our sixteenth celebration of the World Book Day in the Elementary School. We have again chosen a popular theme for our event this year that will excite all of our students. If you are interested in buying a copy of one of our author’s books in advance to have her sign it at the reading, please purchase one through the many venues available.

We would also like to tell you about our annual book fair in connection with the World Book Day at this time. Discarded and surplus children’s books from the library will be sold during this event. Please give your child small change to purchase some of those books which are priced $ 0.10, $ 0.25 and $ 0.50. Every year this is one of the highlights of the fair, since children have few opportunities to buy something independently in the Washington area.

We are all looking forward to Ms. Brenda Seabrooke’s visit.
