Project Science Journalists

Anybody can write an article, or so many people think.

But good journalism is the equivalent of performing a split in gymnastics. Important information must be presented in as interesting a manner as possible: “how can I report on a topic in detail without boring my readers?”

Students in grades 10 through 12 learn the basics of journalism which they apply when writing about science projects at the GISW. In order to do this they form reporter / photographer teams to document activities and events in both German and English.

Students work on the reports in weekly editing meetings, and with the help of experts.

Goals:

  • Promotion of the GISW as a successful foreign school focused on science through real time reporting on its website
  • to spark interest in journalism as a career
