Math Olympiad
The International Mathematics Olympiad is an annual competition composed of 4 rounds in which students from grade 3 to grade 12 can participate. The first round is a homework assignment, the other rounds consist of exams lasting several hours.
The Mathematics Olympiad is a very demanding competition and challenges students beyond their regular classroom work. The competition requires logical thinking and creative use of mathematical methods. A successful participation entails complete documentation of solutions.
In 2017/18, 27 students participated in the Mathematical Olympiad at GISW, of whom 9 students reached the state round (3rd round).
