Pangea - Competition

The Pangea mathematics competition is an annual Germany-wide mathematics competition for students in grades 3 to 10.

Its motto is "Mathematics connects" and it aims to get students of all abilities excited about the subject. For this purpose, interesting questions that are curriculum and fun-oriented are posed in multiple choice form and must be solved in a given time.

The competition takes place in several rounds. From the preliminary round, the first 500 students per grade level reach the intermediate round, from which the best participants qualify for the final (national round).

At GISW, the Pangea competition in which participants are selected by their math teachers, was first held in 2017. Out of several competitors, one student reached the final. In 2018, 40 students participated of whom 8 reached the second round.
